Dirk Smith

T. Dirk Smith, M.B.A., has been serving in the fundraising arena for 18 years. He served as a Regional Director at Harding University where he worked on capital campaigns, major gifts, annual fund giving and planned giving for seven years. He joined Eastern European Mission (EEM) in 2011 where he served as a Major Gifts Officer for nine months and then assumed the responsibility of Vice President in May 2012.


Prior to his work in fundraising, Mr. Smith worked with T. Williams Consulting (ManpowerGroup Solutions) from 1999-2004, serving emerging technology and healthcare companies in the Philadelphia and New York markets. T. Williams Consulting worked with venture capital portfolio companies helping them successfully navigate through their business plan strategies to ensure the exit strategy and liquidity event for their venture firm partners. Dirk worked as a Regional Manager with client and line management responsibilities. 


From the late 1980s through 1999, Mr. Smith worked in the healthcare consulting industry as General Partner/Executive Vice President for MD Network, Inc. and Jackson & Coker, Inc. Dirk worked with hospitals, specialty groups and physician partnerships, helping them increase physician headcount after delivering detailed manpower survey reports. He also consulted with them regarding their business strategies. Dirk worked with organizations such as Humana, Tenet Healthcare and HCA. He was awarded Consultant of the Year in 1992 by his peers, which led to his advancement within the healthcare consulting vertical.


Mr. Smith is a graduate of Harding University with a B.A. in Mathematics and an M.B.A. with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership & Ethics. He has been married for 32 years to the love of his life, Wendy, and they have three adult children.
